Christmas Fever Eggnog!
Yes, Christmas is totally overrated, however, it's actually not at all about the gifting, but the spirit of the whole season! I totally have to admit that I'm a festive season addict! Two Christmas seasons in Switzerland nailed it for me! I so loved the Christmas markets, advent calendars, street choirs, snow and of course - REAL Christmas trees! No matter how you camouflage it, a summer Christmas is just not the same. However, South Africans are pretty good at it though...
If you don't have 'that feeling' yet, kickoff this season with our favourite eggnog recipe!
Remember, we do keep it simple!
For all the year end functions, barbecues and what not - this is hands down our most favourite Eggnog recipe! Hats off to skyisblu for this hilariously easy recipe!
1 Cup milk (we've replaced this with cream)
1 large New Generation Egg
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
Grated nutmeg
Cinnamon (for the fun of it)
White Rum for the 'grownup' version
We've also used vanilla overdose with crushed vanilla pod (cause we love it)
Combine all the ingredients except the alcohol. Mix it vigorously and add the alcohol to taste.
Garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon. See the more sophisticated version here.
